Normally, armoured glass consists of glass sheets with interlayers that are made of synthetic material. At SILATEC, only the outer sheets are made of white glass. This allows us to avoid colour effects.

SILATEC stands for burglary protection and ballistic protection. We regularly have these criteria tested and examined by independent testing laboratories. The examination on ballistic protection and burglary protection is executed by the Staatliche Beschussamt (national ballistics laboratory) in Ulm and the Verband der Schadenversicherer e.V. (federation of liability insurers) in Cologne. Our material is able to withstand extreme temperatures and is also extremely resistant to enormous impact strength.
Incidentally, SILATEC recommends no spall sheets so as not to harm bystanders with the glass splinters.
